Few things are as quintessential to the holiday season in New York as the Saks Fifth Avenue Light Show. An accompaniment to the iconic department store’s holiday window displays, the light show is an annual tradition that brings millions of visitors each season.

This year, Saks celebrates its longstanding relationship with the House of Dior, presenting Dior’s Carousel of Dreams at Saks. Unveiled last night in an event filled with joy and childlike magic, the collaboration is a tribute to Dior’s unwavering ties to the city of New York, dating back over 70 years.

New Look, New York

Dior’s history with New York can be traced back to Mr. Christian Dior himself, whose fascination with “the city that never sleeps ? was an endless source of inspiration. In fact, of all the women worldwide who took to Dior’s contemporary spirit, the American women gave it the most success.

Those early ties to New York forged a bond that has transcended decades, championed this season by a new creative venture with Saks Fifth Avenue, the Carousel of Dreams.

Signature House Codes Light the Night

Lighting the historic facade of Saks Fifth Avenue, an enormous carousel is fitted with the signs of the Zodiac alongside a star and a clover. These motifs are integral to the House of Dior, reimagining a design from Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Cruise 2024 line and tying back to the founding couturier’s good luck charms.

Each emblem is further illuminated by a dazzling show of lights, transfixing viewers in an enchanting display. The display, presented last night during Saks’ annual star-studded unveiling, will be viewable from now through January 5, 2024, with the light show taking place nightly from 4:35pm to 10:35pm.

Furthering the collaboration, the storied holiday window displays are an ode to merry moments, and this year, they pay homage to Dior’s incredible savoir-faire. The scenography presents mini moments recounting the history of Dior. No detail was left untouched from Mr. Dior’s first trip to New York to Dior’s historic ateliers.

Cementing this unprecedented partnership is a collection of special Dior creations exclusively for Saks. Fan favorites and new House classics like the Book Tote and the Saddle Bag are dressed in toile de Jouy, accented by beautiful gold butterflies and bearing a New York inscription.
